Electronic Greeting Card Scam Directs Victims to Malicious Web Page

Electronic greeting cards containing malicious software are currently being sent via spam. Like many other Internet fraud schemes, the perpetrators try to entice recipients by claiming the e-card is from a family member or friend. Although there have been variations in the spam message and attached malware, generally the spam directs the recipient to click on the provided link to view their e-card. Upon clicking the link, the victim is unknowingly taken to a malicious web page.

What you can do to protect yourself
Be wary of this type of email message and never click on attachments or links contained in unsolicited emails since they often contain viruses or other malicious software. Be protective of all your personal and financial information - never provide private information to unknown websites.
