The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) has noted a resurgence of phishing emails that falsely claim your credit card account has been compromised. The email scam urges recipients to call the listed phone number or click on a link in order to remedy the situation.
DO NOT respond to this type of message. These emails are scams—CUNA is the trade association for credit unions and does not maintain any type of customer/member financial information. Additionally, financial institutions would never request personal identification information over the phone via an email solicitation.
If you responded to such an email, you should contact your financial institution immediately. If you suspect fraud or ID theft on your NWFCU account, email us at fraud@nwfcu.org.
