The Washington Post Names Northwest Federal Credit Union a 2025 Top Washington-Area Workplace

Herndon, Va. – June 20, 2025 – Northwest Federal Credit Union (Northwest) has been named one of The Washington Post’s 2025 Top Workplaces in the Washington, D.C. area. This is the 6th consecutive year Northwest has won the award. Its selection was based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC. The assessment measured several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection to determine the top companies that embodied a thriving work environment.
“Northwest is honored to receive the Top Workplace designation, and I am so proud of what this six-years-and-running accomplishment says about the culture we have created here,” said Jeff Bentley, President & CEO of Northwest Federal Credit Union. “I believe that people are our differentiator and when you invest in your people, your whole organization will grow. It is the day-to-day wins that happen behind the scenes with staff being there for each other, leaders pouring into their teams, and our members seeing our core values in action that make a tangible difference. The credit for this award truly goes to our amazing employees who show up committed to making Northwest a better place.”
“For 12 years, The Washington Post’s Top Workplaces list has served as an essential resource for D.C.-area professionals, equipping them with unparalleled insight into the best local companies to work for, as heard directly from their employees,” said Bronwen Latimer, Editor for Special Initiatives at The Washington Post. “This year, we have highlighted 250 companies who are making a difference in business and in our communities.”
As an organization, Northwest is ranked in the top 5 credit unions in the DMV with currently $4.2 billion in assets and over 530 employees. The credit union is built on the principle of “Together, we serve and inspire to transform lives,” which underscores the company culture and emphasis on community both internally within the organization and externally by making a difference through charitable work in the local area.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
Northwest received its award on Wednesday, June 18th at The Washington Post awards ceremony to recognize the top-ranked companies.
