NORTHWEST FEDERAL CREDIT UNION ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP
WITH COMMANDERS QUARTERBACK SAM HOWELL

HERNDON, VA, November 6, 2023 – Northwest Federal Credit Union, a full-service, member-owned financial institution ranking among the largest credit unions in Virginia, announced a strategic partnership with Sam Howell, quarterback of the Washington Commanders. The partnership was brokered by Howell’s marketing firm, ESM out of Greenville, SC. This news follows Northwest’s recent announcement of becoming the Official Credit Union of the Washington Commanders.

Sam Howell is a household name in the Washington, DC, area well-known for his strong leadership both on and off the field. The alliance between Northwest and Howell will help shine the light on their shared commitment to serving the community.

Northwest president Jeff Bentley expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Sam Howell is such an impressive young man and amazing athlete, and we are so happy to welcome him as a new member of Northwest. He’ll be so much more than a spokesperson for Northwest as we’ll be working side by side on upcoming charitable efforts and community activities.”

Sam Howell echoed this excitement stating, "I’m looking forward to collaborating with Northwest and working together on our shared philanthropic and charitable passions. I recently became a member of Northwest and had an awesome experience learning more about the credit union mission and how Northwest is an active part of that.”

One of the first joint community efforts between Northwest and Howell will be the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation Food for Kids Drive, held in coordination with Helping Hungry Kids and Seven Loaves Services, Inc. Howell will be volunteering alongside Northwest to fill backpacks with nutritious food for the weekend to provide to children who are paying free and reduced meal rates for lunch at school.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to be able to work with Northwest in this effort to help these kids in need,” said
Howell. “This is already a cause that is dear to me as I partner with TABLE, an organization that works to help
alleviate hunger in Orange County, North Carolina. Working with Northwest gives me another way to help
