The season-end reward is a cash bonus. Here is exactly how it works and what it takes to earn it.
Annual percentage yield (APY)
Account Opening Requirements: Open your first-ever Northwest Federal qualifying membership account between August 14, 2026 and January 31, 2027. Primary Share account earns 0.05% Annual Percentage Yield (APY). APY accurate as of 8/14/2026. Rate is variable and subject to change.
What it takes
Fund your account with an initial deposit, then keep it going with 12 consecutive monthly deposits. Opening and monthly deposits must be new money, not funds already on deposit with Northwest.
Minimum to open and qualify
Minimum Balance Requirements: Deposit the Opening Deposit amount for the Level of your choosing. By the final month of the qualification period, the account balance must equal or exceed the Ending Balance shown for that Level. Required amounts vary by level. See table for details.
When you get it
The bonus will be deposited into the Primary Savings Account on or before the last day of the calendar month following the month in which all promotion requirements are successfully completed.

Qualifications must be met through required opening deposit and 12 consecutive monthly deposits. The first monthly deposit must not be in the same calendar month as the initial deposit. Depositing the qualifying balance via a lump-sum deposit is strictly excluded and will result in disqualification from the promotional bonus incentive.

The Northwest Federal and Washington Commanders offer is a season-long promotion that rewards new Northwest Federal Credit Union members with up to $250 for building a savings habit. Choose one of four levels, Rookie, Starter, MVP, or GOAT, then make an opening deposit and continue with that level's required monthly deposit for twelve consecutive months. While you're enrolled, you're automatically entered into weekly Washington Commanders prize drawings, and once you complete all twelve monthly deposits, Northwest Federal credits your season-end bonus. Rookie level earns a $25 bonus, Starter level earns $75, MVP level earns $150, and GOAT level earns $250, the maximum reward available under this offer. Your bonus is set by the level you choose when you apply, and it's yours as long as you meet that level's deposit requirements throughout the season. Rookie opens with $250 and continues at $25 a month, Starter opens with $1,000 and continues at $75 a month, MVP opens with $5,000 and continues at $150 a month, and GOAT opens with $10,000 and continues at $250 a month, each for twelve consecutive months. Once you're enrolled, the program runs for twelve consecutive months from your opening deposit, and Northwest Federal credits your season-end reward in the month following the calendar month you successfully complete all requirements. No. Every new Northwest Federal member is automatically entered into the weekly Washington Commanders prize drawings once their account is open, with no extra sign-up step required. You don't need to attend a game to be entered or to win most prizes. A small number of prize experiences do take place at Commanders games. Full sweepstakes rules are in the disclosures.
Your deposits are always your money, whether or not you earn the bonus. Missing a scheduled monthly deposit can affect your eligibility for the season-end reward, but it never costs you the funds you've already put into your account.
Yes. Northwest Federal Credit Union is federally insured by the NCUA, so the funds in your account are protected throughout the program, whether or not you're working toward the season-end bonus.

*Disclosures. The Drive Bonus Promotion requires opening and maintaining a qualifying Northwest Federal membership account. To qualify, apply for membership and open your first-ever Primary Savings account through the promotion landing page at nwfcu.org/DriveToSave or use promo code DRIVE during account opening between August 14, 2026, and January 31, 2027. The Initial Deposit required for the selected Level must be made no later than the last day of the calendar month following the month the account is opened. Thereafter, the monthly deposit amount associated with the selected Level must be deposited for twelve (12) consecutive months following the month of the Initial Deposit.
