(October 1, 2020) –The Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU) Foundation, the charitable arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, recently concluded their Food for Kids Drive, collecting 32,000+ food items for local children in need. The drive was in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has increased the need for supplemental food for area school children.
Herndon, Va. (September 17, 2020) –The Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU) Foundation, the charitable arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, recently presented a check for $10,000 to Hunter Gunn, Director of the Inova Cares Clinic for Children. The clinic provides much needed pediatric services to children of mothers on Medicaid, or without insurance.

Herndon, Va. (June 18, 2020) – Northwest Federal Credit Union continues to expand its footprint in Loudoun County, most recently with a new branch in the One Loudoun shopping center in Ashburn, Virginia. One Loudoun is Northwest Federal’s tenth public branch and its third in Loudoun County. Northwest Federal has over 7,000 members and business accounts in Ashburn and the surrounding area, and has been focusing on establishing professional and philanthropic partnerships with local organizations.
Herndon, Va. (June 5, 2020) – NWFCU Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, has continued its efforts in spite of COVID-19. In the Foundation’s most recent effort, over 35,000 diapers and pull-ups were delivered to the Northern Virginia Diaper Bank on May 21, 2020, bringing the total to over 50,000 diapers since the drive began on April 1, 2020.
Herndon, Va. (May 5, 2020) – Last month, Northwest Federal Credit Union donated to eight of its local non-profit food pantry partners. The organizations, which provide food assistance, financial grants, gift cards, personal supplies and more, have been struggling in the wake of COVID-19 due to decreases in food donations from grocery stores, monetary donations and volunteer availability.
Herndon, Va. (April 17, 2020) – NWFCU Foundation recently ran a weekend meal program drive, collecting non-perishable food items to provide nourishing meals for at-promise children on weekends. The Foundation received almost 4,200 food items and several hundred dollars in donations from generous credit union members, employees and corporate partners, including Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc.
Herndon, Va. (February 7, 2020) – Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation recently held its second annual Kids in Crisis drive, collecting over 400 plush toys, blankets, and other comfort items for local first responders to provide to children in crisis situations.
Herndon, Va. (January 23, 2020) – Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation recently held its inaugural Coats for Kids drive, collecting well over 300 winter coats, along with boxes of hats and gloves, to help keep children in Northern Virginia warm this winter.
Herndon, Va. (February 21, 2020) – Northwest Federal Credit Union recently celebrated the grand opening of a new branch in Ballston, Virginia, its ninth public branch and first in Arlington County. The grand opening celebration was attended by representatives of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, community partners and local businesses.
