(July 27, 2021) – Northwest Federal Credit Union recently met with representatives from food pantries across Northern Virginia, providing donations in support of their programs to address food insecurity in the local community. In total, Northwest Federal donated $17,500 to eight food pantries.

(July 9, 2021) –The NWFCU Foundation, in partnership with the CIA Retirees Association (CIRA), awarded $105,000 in scholarships to twenty one young scholars as part of their annual Ben DeFelice, CIRA, Financial Awareness Network and Need-Based Scholarship Programs. This year’s program was particularly competitive, with a record 435 applications.

Herndon, Va. (April 22, 2021) – NWFCU Foundation, the charitable arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, held its annual Food for Kids Drive from February1-March 31 in partnership with Giant Food to collect non-perishable food items for at-promise children. The Foundation received almost 42,000 food items and several thousand dollars in donations from generous credit union members, employees and corporate partners, including Whitney, Bradley & Brown, Inc.

Northwest Federal Credit Union recently received Leadership Fairfax’s Corporate Leadership award as part of the 24th Annual Northern Virginia Leadership Awards program. Leadership Fairfax is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on training, inspiring and engaging leaders to impact issues facing local communities and the Northern Virginia region. The five award winners were recognized as outstanding leaders making a difference in the community.
